Meet the artist
Hello! I’m Angeli, and I love making polymer clay and silver jewelry.
I've been interested in crafts since I was a little girl, thanks to the influence of my mom Marilyn. I dabbled in many crafts as a kid - embroidery, crochet, sewing, beading - name it, I've probably tried it. I rediscovered accessory-making when I was 17, when beaded adornment were enjoying a comeback. Enthralled with typical materials like seed beads and semiprecious stones, I would make stretchy bracelets and quirky necklaces for myself. But I soon got bored with the limited materials available in the market, so I explored different materials that would allow me to be more playful and adventurous with my designs. Being a voracious reader, I usually spend hours in bookstores. On one fateful day in 2002, I stumbled upon a book about how to make your own beads from polymer clay. I was intrigued. It took me six months or so before I could get my hands on this magical material. It took me another year to master the craft. Today, most of the materials I use are unique clay beads that I designed and handcrafted myself. Each bead is painstakingly molded by hand, and baked in my oven. After years of research, trial-and-error, and sleepless nights, I came up with a style that is uniquely my own. :) I have recently started dabbling in fine silver and gold jewelry making (Art Clay Silver and Gold), and creating beads out of molten glass (lampworking). But I am not yet a master of these two art forms. In the mean time, you can enjoy my handcrafted polymer clay work. Read about my story on the Inquirer. Random personal tidbits about me:
